About This Project

Teapotheca started with my wife's frustration, not mine. She keeps a wide collection of dried herbs and loves building her own tea recipes — but one night, searching for something to match how she was feeling, she ran into a wall: dozens of recipes online, all claiming something different, ingredients scattered everywhere, nothing that felt credible. It happened again the next night. And the next.

Eventually she said, half out of frustration, "I wish there was an app where I could just select what I was feeling, and it gave me the ingredients to use." I'm a web designer and developer — that one sentence was all it took. My brain didn't stop spinning for 18 months.

What you're looking at is that answer: one herb, one page, one safety note at a time. Every entry here is researched individually, not templated or copy-pasted. Where Traditional Chinese Medicine offers a useful cross-reference, it's included. Where an herb carries real risk or interacts with common medications, that's stated plainly.

This is a reference tool, not medical advice. Always check with a healthcare provider before starting anything new — especially if you're pregnant, nursing, or on medication.
