Common questions

How is this different from free sites like NCCIH?

NCCIH's Herbs at a Glance is a good free resource, and we point people to it. Its fact sheets are short and focused on what research has tested. Teapotheca is built for people who make things at home: each herb links to tested recipes, growing guides by USDA hardiness zone, and preparation notes, and you can search by how you feel, what you have on your shelf, or what you're growing.

Is this worth it when I already own a reference book?

Keep the book. A good herbal is worth owning. Teapotheca does what a book can't: search across every herb by symptom, plant part, or flavor, keep your own journal and brewing notes, track what's on your shelf, and build a shopping list from any recipe. New herbs and recipes are added as they're reviewed.

Who researched the herb profiles?

Every profile is compiled from published sources, including pharmacopeias, peer-reviewed research, and established herbal references, and each one is reviewed for safety before it goes live. Sources are cited on the page. Teapotheca is an educational reference and is not written or reviewed by a licensed clinician.

Is this medical advice?

No. Teapotheca is for education only. Herbs can interact with medications and aren't safe for everyone, including during pregnancy. Check with a healthcare provider before using herbs, especially if you take medication or have a health condition.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep full access through the end of the period you've already paid for. Payments aren't refunded for partial periods. Founding Herbalist is a one-time payment, so there's nothing to cancel.

Why Teapotheca exists

I’m Brady. My wife, Cassie, loves building her own tea recipes from her dried-herb collection — but night after night, she'd search for something to match how she was feeling and find dozens of contradictory, uncredible recipes. She finally said, "I wish there was an app where I could just select what I was feeling, and it gave me the ingredients to use." Eighteen months later, here it is.
