Very well tolerated in normal condiment amounts. As a cruciferous relative of horseradish and mustard, similar general cautions apply at concentrated or large intake — moderate use during pregnancy, and awareness of the same mustard-oil-type compounds. If you're uncertain whether a "wasabi" product is true wasabi or a horseradish-based substitute, check the ingredient list — true wasabi is more expensive and far less commonly available than the substitute.
