Galium aparine
Sprawling annual with tiny hooked hairs that let it cling to clothing and fur, small white flowers, and whorled leaves.
Origin: Europe, Asia, and North America
Growing Notes: Part sun, moist rich soil, sprawls readily over other plants.
Traditionally used to support urinary tract comfort.
Steep 1-2 tsp fresh or dried aerial parts, covered, 8-10 min; best made from fresh plant material when available, since it loses potency quickly once dried.
Dosage: Tea: 1-2 tsp fresh or dried herb per cup.
Generally well tolerated. Consult a healthcare provider before use during pregnancy or nursing, or if on diuretic medication.
