Angelica archangelica
Members can save items to My Herbarium
Important identification caution: Angelica closely resembles several highly toxic plants in the same family, including poison hemlock and water hemlock — never harvest wild Angelica unless identification is confirmed by an experienced forager, and prefer a known cultivated or commercially sourced product. Contains furanocoumarins, which can increase skin sensitivity to sunlight — avoid prolonged sun exposure after use. Avoid during pregnancy (traditionally used as an emmenagogue). May affect blood sugar — consult a healthcare provider before use if diabetic or on blood-sugar medication.
